  • Rivergreen Psychology Group (RPG) will soon be accepting applications for a Therapist position and an early career Psychologist (Postdoctoral or Licensed) position in a group private practice setting specializing in adults, ages 18-75. Full details and description of benefits to come!

In an attempt to provide the best employment and training environment possible, RPG strives for a culture of openness, inclusion, and equitable treatment in the form of mutual respect, compensation, and encouragement for future opportunity, both within Rivergreen and independently. To this end, employment and training offers supervision, mentoring, and guidance on all aspects of running one’s own practice and the best patient care possible.

  • Clients typically include high-functioning working professionals at any stage of their career, college and graduate students. Individuals often need help with anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, perfectionism, harm-reduction of behaviors, ADHD, reducing distraction and internet use, and balancing careers and life, especially relationships. RPG has a keen interest in attachment theory as do many of the patients that seek us out for help in their relationships.

  • Our clinicians often conceptualize from a modern analytic framework including an interpersonal and relational stance when helping individuals and couples work on forming secure attachments. At the core of helping others and ourselves live more in the present moment, we integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based strategies into our therapeutic work. We also value and welcome diversity of training and lived experiences, and are excited to incorporate new staff members’ unique qualities and clinical backgrounds.

  • Rivergreen Psychology Group was founded to help meet the needs of New Yorkers given that a sole-proprietor model could only reach so many individuals during the pandemic as it became clear that mental health needs and treatment would be central to most moving forward.

In order to differentiate ourselves from many of the group-practices that offer low compensation, high stress, and non-compete agreements, the “incubator” model came to fruition. Patient relationships begun while employed at RPG may be considered for continuation by the therapist upon successful completion of an agreed upon time of employment (usually three years). This continuity of care is often in the best interest of clients and clinicians. This can enable younger clinicians to obtain training in all aspects of the art and business of psychotherapy in a nurturing setting and without the anxiety and financial stress that can come in the early days of private practice.
